Thumbs down Recurrent BV after period

I've been struggling with this for a year now. Never had any issues before until last summer; I went out with my one of my girl friends after a recent breakup of an 8 year relationship. We were drinking, heavily, so her boyfriend came and picked us up. Long story short, he ended up picking up one of his friends and the next day it had come to my attention that not only was I taken advantage of by the guy he had picked up.. But by my girl's boyfriend as well. In tears I fled to the clinic to get tested for any and all std's. Everything ended up coming back negative but the doctor had given me some sort of 'just in case' bacterial medicine. I took it and from there ran to get a plan b in fear of one of then not using a condom. I have been broken ever since that night.. I learned so many lessons all at once.
Ever since I had slammed all of that medication/emergency contraceptive pill, my vaginal area has never been the same. I get a bv infection after every cycle. The antibiotics work but only until my monthly matters come around. I've been taking probiotics for a little over a week now plus I bought Rephresh, that vaginal probiotic gel, but it hasn't seemed to help...
I live with a constant reminder of that night every single day of my life... I feel like I destroyed my body with those medications... I just feel at such a loss..
I've even recently thought about taking birth control just to stop my period even though I have factor IV laiden, which is a blood disease that causes my blood to be so thick I run a higher risk of developing blood clots.

So, I'm coming to ya'll before I take drastic measures... I just can't live with this reminder any longer.

Re: Recurrent BV after period

Hey there, that is a really sad story I feel for you, I've had recurring bv on and off for for several years. It's a lot better now. It will get better, there are a lot of things you can do. What antibiotics have you taken? what are your symptoms like? any other health issues? is rephresh working??
