Josie,
It's done, and I survived. :) The procedure was about 45 min. She did end up having to do a hemorrhoidectomy after all, along with removing the skin tag. I really don't remember the surgery because of the sedation. But as they were finishing and I became more aware of what was going on, I realized that a nurse had been holding my hand through the whole thing. You know, that small gesture of kindness just meant the world to me.
The pain right after surgery wasn't bad at all, I guess because of the deadening stuff they do for the surgery. After that wore of, it was quite painful. The pain medication and lidocaine cream are helping to control that. It's much better today than yesterday. I haven't had the "pleasure" of a BM yet. I don't look forward to that at all. I'm sure that will be the worst part. But so far so good. I still can't believe I did it.
