: It's done, and I survived. :) The procedure was about 45 min. She did end up having to do a hemorrhoidectomy after all, along with removing the skin tag. I really don't remember the surgery because of the sedation. But as they were finishing and I became more aware of what was going on, I realized that a nurse had been holding my hand through the whole thing. : The pain right after surgery wasn't bad at all, I guess because of the deadening stuff they do for the surgery. After that wore of, it was quite painful. The pain medication and lidocaine cream are helping to control that. It's much better today than yesterday. I haven't had the "pleasure" of a BM yet. I don't look forward to that at all. I'm sure that will be the worst part. But so far so good. I still can't believe I did it.

Ohh Susan, I am so happy for you that it is all done now. I was thinking about you all day yesterday and wondering how things were going. How are you feeling?

Hope you won't mind if I ask you some personal questions. I was wondering if there were any stiches and if so, will they need to be removed later or are they dissolvable? Also, what are your recovery directions. Do you need to take sitz baths and stool softeners? Are you able to stand and walk without discomfort? Have you been able to look at it yet? If so, how do you think it looks? Do you think it will eventually look like normal again? Are you swollen?

I'm so sorry for all these questions, I'm just so happy I have someone to ask these questions to. Most of all, I hope you are doing well and glad that your nurse had the compassion to hold your hand and make you feel comfortable.

Glad all went well, and happy to hear from you so soon, I guess that's a good sign.
