I hope that you have an answer to this by now...If not, it sounds as though your son has encopresis which is a form of chronic constipation and is VERY common in boys...it would not seem as though he is constipated because often the stools are normal or even loose. Tell my pediatrician by name what I thought my son had and then we got it treated.

There are many web sights addressing this and you could do a search for it easily...just watch your spelling!
