Advice needed SOON!!!
I'm a former athlete that prided myself on my conditioning!!! Two weeks ago I felt relatively constipated and began taking
two fiber laxatives at intervals of two to three hours, totalling six to eight in one day. When they did not produce rapid results,
I took a total of six to eight chocolate EX-LAX the next day. As a result, I experienced two BM's quite early in the morning!!!
Nonetheless, that was not enough. The next day I began using a laxative called Equilactin, six total!!
I am thirty-three years old and have NEVER taken a laxative a day in my life. I simply wanted a regular BM!!
Most of the symptoms associated with taking laxatives have subsided with the exception of a seeming narrow stool!!!
I'm quite frightened because at times my stool appears to form a "regular" shape and at others it appears narrow.
My wife has attempted to calm me by explaining it's not normal to take that many laxatives in the first place and my body
is returning to normal. I've not seen any blood in my stool!! However, I've seen quite a bit of food each time I have a BM.
Though her words are comforting, it doesn't eliminate the fact my Mother passed away from colon cancer.
Can anyone estimate how long it generally takes for the body to return to normal and what is the description of a narrow stool?
Additionally, can laxatives cause that much damage to a body???
