: : : Hello. I need some advice. For pretty much my entire life I've had bowel movements every week or so. I eat a good amount, not a vegeterian, not constipated, and in pretty good health. I do sometimes have BM two days in a row, or twice in one day, but average about a week. Does anyone have any information on why?

: : Hi Mike

: : It is often I go a week or more without a bowel movement but it is not at all comfortable. In fact, when that happens the movement is large and it is painful. If yours is routine and regular as you describe then I guess I wouldn't worry about it too much....

: Clara sounds like you need to try some fiber therapy like Citrucel or Fibertabs to get your bowels working more regular. Constipation can lead to problems like hemorrhoids and possibly obstipation as you get older. I would work on getting your constipation under control now while you can to help prevent future problems.

Hi Clara,
I agree you are constipated. You need to get on a water soluble fiber supplement like psyllium in Metamucil or in capsule form.

Constipation can cause all sorts of disorders because you are absorbing toxins that need to be eliminated from your body.Drink alot of water!!!
God Bless---Harry
