Paul,

I am so sorry to hear about your problems. I can just imagine how scared you must feel. Please do not worry too much until you know exactly what you have.

I had the same problems and was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation and Syringomyelia. These are very rare disorders, so most likely (I hope), you don't have them. Your symptoms could be caused by something else.

I advise you to insist to your neurologist to give you an MRI, preferrably of the cervical, brain and thoracic spine. Also, ask him to give you some medication for pain management.

Good luck on your appointment and just take one day at a time!
