: : : : My partner recently had a SAH due to a ruptured aneurysm. Today is SAH day 31, surgery to clamp the aneurysm was
: : : : completed successfully on SAH day 19 (also a shunt was installed). She presently has no apparent mobility or
: : : : neurological deficit apart from a memory loss for the past three weeks. She also gets tired quickly and can't read or write without getting a headache.
: : : : Yesterday she was discharged from hospital. What's the best recovery time that could be expected and what does it depend on?
: : : : Can you suggest further resources on the internet useful for someone in this recovery stage? I've found that difficult to find using search engines. Thanks.
: : : My husband had a SHA back in 1995 that they didn't do surgery on. It healed on it's own. His recovery time was more then a year. He had a lot of blood in his brain with lot's of head ache's. they didn't put a shunt in. they talked about it but didn't think it was needed at the time. But now 5 year's later he is still having servere head ache's and sick to his stomach and the head ache's are very rough on him.He has other side effect from it to. He is tired all the time. His eye's bother him also when he get these head ache's. He is being treated by a neurologist for the head ache's with medication but it's not helping much.I had posted a message hoping that someone could tell me all the posiable side effect's from having the hemorrhage but so far no luck.Email me anytime if you have any new's. I can't find a lot of site's to go to either.. Thank's K kara@eohio.net

: : I too had a subarachnoid hemmorhage. They couldn't find the source of mine and I was treated with medication after a week's hospital stay. It has been almost a year now since my bleed. I still experience some headaches and also some mild memory loss. I have really found no links either - but am learning to cope on my own. I do have family support. Best of luck!

: __ I also had a brain aneurism that was treated with surgery. It is now 4 years later and I am still not feeling normal. I developed a seizure disorder as a result of the surgery. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how long it normally takes to recover from brain surgery and if I will ever be the same. Also, if anyone could tell me where to go on the internet to find information on this since I have also had trouble finding sites. Thanks.

The following link might be of some help it was for me. Thanks and Good Luck.
