I had lower back surgery for a herniated disc the last of Jan. 2000. As a result of the surgey the S-2 nerve was damaged and I have lost feeling in the bladder and bowel area. The doctors tell me that it could be 6 months to a year for the feeling and control to come back. EMG's have been run after one and three months and the results show no reparis yet. Has anyone one had similiar problems after back surgery and if so how long did it take to get the feeling back? Also, is there anything that can be done to speed up the process or is there anyother test that can be run to see if the nerve will repair itself?
