: My 7 year old son was diagnosed yesterday with pseudo tumor cerebri. He was complaining of headaches for the last couple of months and I took him to his pediatrician. His doctor recommended we see the eye doctor and he tested my son and diagnosed him as having a papilledema. We then were immediately seen by a pediatric neurologist. They ordered a CAT-Scan which came back negative and conducted the spinal tap yesterday. He was diagnosed yesterday as having PTC. He is not overweight and has very little if any body fat. He is now on Diamox 250 mg three times a day. I would like to hear from anyone who has PTC or has a child who has been diagnosed. I would like any and all information that anyone is willing to share.

I'm so sorry to hear of your son's diagnosis. I was diagnosed back in 1992 with PTC. It's a terrible thing to go through. I too was put on Diamox along with other meds. I can't remember the names of. After repeated spinal taps and being on meds for 7 long months my PTC went away. Now I'm having symptoms again. I am looking for any information I can about this. If you know of a good web site I would love to have it. I'm just now beginning my search on the internet. As a mother I can only imagine your concern. There is so little info. out there. My new doctor had to look it up in front of me in his books and came up with nothing. I will post another message if I find something. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
