Our 15 month old son was born with a large left frontal arachnoid cyst. He had surgery when he was 5 weeks old to drain some of the fluid away to help relieve the pressure on his brain (he has no shunt). He has epilepsy which we controlled with medication but we have concerns about his development. He has some slight weakness on his right side and is receiving physio for this. Also his speech appears to be delayed. He is not saying any words, just the occasional da or ba - no tuneful babbling as you would expect as this age.

We would be grateful for any information on this, particularly from someone who is in a similar situation. Can anyone tell us what the general outlook may be for our son?
