What antidepressants do you recommend for the treatment of migraine headaches accompanied by depression? I have tried
Elavil, Prozac, Zoloft and Effexor at average dosages without relief. Elavil made my depression worse. Effexor increased the
severity of my migraines. Prozac and Zoloft had very little effect. I have migraines that start premenstrually and last for about 8
days. I have tried various medications with relief of headache, followed by reoccurence the following day. I have used Imetrex,
amerge, Zomig and currently Maxalt. What is the risk of taking these medications with the SSRI antidepressants. My
pharmacist refused to fill my prescription for Zoloft and Imetrex due to the possibility of serotonin syndrome.
