I had bilateral mastectomy for atypical ductal hyperplasia (3/99) with reconstruction by saline implants under the muscle (7/99). Following removal of the expanders and placement of the permanent implants, I did not feel tightness in the pecs. Over the past few months, the pecs seem to have tightened even though I have retained full range of motion in the shoulders. This is worse at night, with tingling sensation in the axillae radiating down the inner arms. It resolves when I awaken and move around. I am constantly uncomfortable from the tightness and am considering having the implants removed. Has anyone experienced this and if so, were you able to resolve the problem?
