: My father will be undergoing chemo for Head and Neck Cancer in the next couple of weeks. My mom saw something on the news that said you shouldn't take vitamin C while undergoing chemo. I have not heard about this, but if you have please respond.
there have been several contradicting studies on vitamin c.university of california came up with the conclusion in a study in might speed up hardening of the arteries in smokers, the university of hawaii cam up with no association, and states it might help mental resoning. sloan kettering study said it might actually help some tumor cells grow as they found cancer cells have more vitamin c stored in them then regular cells. then a study in england said to get an anti-oxidant ture offect you have to take over 1500 mg a day. possible conclusion maybe means just eat right and get it in your diet??
