In Reply to: How Much Time Does My Mother Have...Please Respond posted by Stewart on April 11, 2000 at 06:20:51:

: My mother was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in July of 99. It is not operable. She has undergone chemo, her tumor has gone from the size of an orange to the size of a walnut and she is still on chemo.

: Her Dr.'s are always positive, as they should be, but no is talking about longivity. Could someone please tell me, approx. how much time does she have. I need to be prepared. Thanks.
Stewart, I just realized you are talking about small-cell cancer, which is why I didn't reply sooner. I was diagnosed with SCC in '94, had six months of chemo, and I am still OK, even though the cancer had spread when I was first diagnosed. So I hope your mother stays well. It is possible!
Good luck. Sari
