In Reply to: How Much Time Does My Mother Have...Please Respond posted by Stewart on April 11, 2000 at 06:20:51:
: My mother was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in July of 99. It is not operable. She has undergone chemo, her tumor has gone from the size of an orange to the size of a walnut and she is still on chemo.
: Her Dr.'s are always positive, as they should be, but no is talking about longivity. Could someone please tell me, approx. how much time does she have. I need to be prepared. Thanks.
Hon,I don't think anyone can tell you when or if your mother will pass on.Just maybe she might be cured. It is not inpossable.
My mother was misdiagnosed back in 88. Nine months later and another dr. we found out she had 12 tumors in the brain.
They said it was oatsale(might not be spelled right) Cancer. Fastest spreading but could be cured if cought in time. It had nine months to grow.
She did the treatments, but said if they didn't work she wasn't going any farther. This was in Oct of 89 and on Jan 19th of 1990,Mother went to be with the LORD.
That was over 10 years ago. Who knows what they may come up with 10 years later. You are never prepared for a love one to leave you, expecially a parent. My sister MarJoe Davidson Author of Angel in Disguise www.arrive.at/AngelinDisguise has written this book on how we four seblings took care of our mother and of a wonderful Miracle we were blessed to see the night before our mother left. I truly pray your mother gets better and you stay strong to help her through whatever she will go through. You may e-mail me if you want firstname.lastname@example.org God bless you and your mom...pat
