In Reply to: Decision - No Chemo what next? posted by Judie Bartoszewicz on May 09, 2000 at 05:16:46:

: I have posted before . My Mom (age 72) who has Non Small Cell
: Andenocarcinoma Stage IV has decided not to go through Chemo.
: This is her decision, her body and we support it. What are
: we to expect now as she also does not want Chemo, MRI's or
: anymore ct scans. Thank you in advance

I agree with rosalita about contacting hospice. I just lost my mother 2 weeks ago to non small cell lung cancer, adenocarcinoma. The hospice nurses are wonderful, they tell you what to expect and why. Also make sure your mother has told her doctors if she wants life saving measures taken if her breathing or heart stops. Its so important. My mother signed a do not rececitate (not sure of my spelling) order and I'm so glad she did. Her suffering was not prolonged. If you want to email me, I'd be glad to write to you. My prayers are with your mother and your family. skylark_@hotmail.com
