: My mother has been complaining of her bones in her shoulders and neck hurting. She has had bone scans of full body, ctscan of upper body and head, ctscan of abdomen. Nothing was found. But this "bones" hurting has me wondering if it isn't somehow connected to the cacner. She never had arthritis in this area before, which is what she thinks it is. Does anyone have any feedback on this. It is starting to worry me that the pain only gets worse and not better.
The disease is highly metastatic. more than likely there has been metastasis to somewhere in that area causing the pain that is not yet visible. your concern right now should be her pain. doctors tend to undermedicate terminal elderly patients. if you get her involved in the hospice care you won't have to put up with that.the pain will probably get worse, but if it is adequatley controled, that should be the last thing for you to worry about. calll your local american cancer society branch and get hospice care coming in.(she's at home?)
