: My mother has been complaining of her bones in her shoulders and neck hurting. She has had bone scans of full body, ctscan of upper body and head, ctscan of abdomen. Nothing was found. But this "bones" hurting has me wondering if it isn't somehow connected to the cacner. She never had arthritis in this area before, which is what she thinks it is. Does anyone have any feedback on this. It is starting to worry me that the pain only gets worse and not better.

Hello Maggie,
The kind of cancer your Mom has, spreads very fast. My sister had Non Small Cell, and I have heard that Small Cell is even worse, it spreads fast without treatment. Is your mothers lung tumor operable? My sisters lung tumor was inoperable. She did have 32 radiation treatments to the lung area, and the tumor did shrink, but it already spread to her brain, so she had 9 out of 12 radiation treatments to the brain. She got too weak to finish up the treatments. In the meantime it went into her bones. Maggie she was on pain medication from the time she was diag.So when your mom starts having pain, she will need meds.It gets worse Maggie. If you would like to email me,I would be happy to talk to you. You are in my prayers.
