: I posted a message about two days ago in response to a whole string of messages, regarding how cancer patients need to really fight the fight and give their bodies to the scientific trials, etc., so there can be some real progress made in the war on cancer. It seems that this whole discussion has been deleted from the board. Did anybody else notice this? Is there a reason for this?
i think the moderator did it because our discussions got too personal, although i didn't think yours was. first i want to say i have been reading here for a while, and i am sorry about the loss of your father. i have a rare genetic disease which requires the services of radiologists every now and then and all of the ones i have met have been great, they have saved my life more than once. i think your father should have gotten in to that trial. it sounds like he fought to the end just like my mother is doing. we had to go into the trial center with her and look a doctor in the face and say we would accept if she was chosen for just observation. it was pure luck she was chosen for treatment. i think anyone who wants a study drug should get it.more patients don't do this because their dr's don't help. her dr. just wanted to try another chemo, which we knew could never get it all. it was through my fathers work connections we got the documented publishing on this study and knew it was effective. my dad is considering suicide if she dosen't make it, he can't imagine or dosen't want to live without her. to make a long story short. i totally thought your post was appropriate. i guess i got a little oversensitive though.
