I've known many people coping with cancer, but those who faced it best have be the ones who trusted in Jesus Christ to guide them each day. The following scriptures have been very helpful to me:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

"Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved--you and your household." (Acts 16:31)

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding.
    In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
