i am sorry i did not see your message down on the bottom. its hard when your mother is elderly and gets so ill. the chemo to treat that and the radiation is very tough. there are some cancer trials that could be easier on her, medicare must now pay the costs due to president clinton's ruling. there is one trial that is aimed at elderly frail patients who are in stage 4, and it is going on world wide.the drug is navelbine. it would definatley give your mother more time, and not as tortours as regular chemo. i read the application process for trial approval and the average survival time(that's just average, could be longer) was 36 months. i beleive the cancer has to be in stage 4. if your interested tell me, i'll tell you how to find it. also if you tell me what part of the country your in i will also let you know of other gentle trials that might or might not be going on by you. i hope you can find something for her to give both of you more time.Either way my prayers are with you and your mom.
