Holly,
This must be very scary for you and it's hard to understand why adults make some of the choices they do. At 80, I would suspect that the radiation was given, not so much to cure, but to make your grandfather more comfortable. Lung radiation can take a lot out of you so whether he continues treatment or not is a personal choice. Hospice is an organization that provides support and care to patients who have terminal illnesses but choose to die at home. They make the patients as comfortable as possible, making sure they don't have pain. They also supply support to the family caring for the patient. Best wishes to you and your grandfather. Let him know how much you care for him and that's the best thing you could do for him.
