: My friend was diagnosed with cancer 2weeks ago(dont know what kind exactly). Primary cancer is tumor in shoulder/neck which has already caused bone marrow cancer. Started chemo day after diagnosis, now been in hospital for treatments 2 weeks. Yesterday during treatment "took a bad turn" and now in ICU. Is this normal for someone to have to go in ICU during chemo treatment? Is treatment better in one country than another?(she is in australia).Any other info would be appreciated.

My Mother had an allergic reaction to Taxol during her second treatment and was admitted to ICU. We were told allergic reactions usually occur with first or second treatments. She was in ICU for 4 days. Maybe this is what happened to your friend
