: Hello all,

: Our mother is just starting chemo and radiation therapy for stage IV nonsmall cell lung cancer. She is interested in supplementing her treatment with MGN3 (shiitaake and rice bran extract), to the tune of 12 pills a day, and with IP - 6 as well (inositol hexaphosphate), to the tune of 16 caps a day. Both supplements are supposed to boost the immune system's ability to destroy cancer cells.

: Is it a good idea to layer supplements like these, when beginning treatment?

: Thanks,

Your mother needs to be taking something to strenghten her immune system. Chemo and radiation tear down your immune system and you need a strong immune system to fight cancer. I know, I am in my third week of radiation and am taking every percaution and supplement to keep my immune system strong. Your mother needs support in the things she deceide's on, because I'm sure she is feeling very out of control now
