: : I was diagnosed with (germinoma)ovarian cancer almost 4 yrs ago. I had one ovary and the fallopian tube removed. I was lucky not to have had chemo, and have had a clean bill of health ever since.
: : My other ovary is only half there due to a rather large endometrial cyst (non-malignant)from 7 years ago.
: : My husband and I have been trying for 2 years to get pregnant, but to no avail.
: : Any success stories out there ?
: I have experienced infertility and have watched my mother go through Ovarian cancer. The best
: advise I can give you is to see an Infertility Specialist right away. The specialist will be able to
: put your mind at ease. Even if you cannot conceive naturally, there are alot of other options such as
: Artificial Insemination or IVF. Have you talked to your OB/GYN? What treatment have you
: your received so far. Did the ovarian cancer interfer with your ability to produce eggs?
: Love to chat with you. Please write back.
Natalie: about a year after my surgery, I had some kind of hormone level taken to find out if my remaining ovary was functioning. It came back
apparently within normal limits. My OB/GYN is going to start some fertility testing this month--she was just waiting for me to give her the ok
(my husband was a little reluctant at first).
I have also been using the clear plan easy fertility monitor for about 3 months.
