: : Does anyone have info regarding new devolpments in breast cancer research? I am not very confident that it's going as fast or well as it should. There is really not much you can do against breast cancer--just cancer for that matter--although it's one of the leading deaths among women and that it's been studied for so long. It's almost a farce.
: I beg to differ, gopher, that it's a farce. That's a strong word. Granted, there is yet no cure for cancer, but that doesn't mean that there is no drive to reach that goal. Today, women are more aware than ever about breast cancer (incidentally, so are men). I'd say that's a good start. Cure for cancer won't come in a year or two or even a decade. People, and their genes are always changing. The science to study and maniplute them must continually chnage with them. It is frustrating but I don't like to see people being down on the good guys when so much energy is needed in the other direction. If you want to help in the research, go to www.dna.com and sign up for the gene trust database project. You or your loved ones may not have breast cancer but your and everyone else's genes are all pieces of the puzzle to solving cancer.
Cool site, good sugestion
