Natalie and DonJoe,
My mom was diagnosed Aug. 98 with stage 3C ovarian cancer she was on Topotecan for only about 3 treatments and it quick working. There are alot of different drugs out there so drill your doctor and find the best one if they take her off of the Topotecan. My mom was on a clinical trial that nearly wiped out the cancer all together but then developed neuropathy so she was taken off of it. She currently isn't on anything until they figure out what caused the neuropathy. Before the clinical trial she was on Taxol, Cisplatin and the Topotecan at different times but all quite working after a few treatments. Ask your doctors about the clinical trials I know there are alot out there. The one my Mom was on was made by Eli Lily I believe,it didn't have a name only a number. I'm not sure if your aware but there are 2 great web sites for ovarian cancer patients as well as there caregivers they are the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition NOCC and the National Ovarian Cancer Association. The NOCC has a message board much like this one. Best of luck to you both and your loved ones. GOD BLESS.
