Diana, I hope your mother will respond well to the radiation. It's true--the doctors cannot tell if a spot they see on an Xray or cscan is cancer or not. If they see changes in a future scan, then it helps them decide. I will have a needle biopsy next month to determine if a remaining spot on my lung is an old scar or a non-smallcell cancer.
Probably it's a scar because it's been there a long time. Otherwise, I really am fine, with no recurrence of smallcell cancer.I hope all will be well for your mother. Best of luck, good wishes, from Sari
