: : : : : My mom, who is 51 yrs old, recently had an endoscopy and the doctor found numerous stomach polyps (about 50). They did a biopsy on three of them and luckily the results came back negative. However, there are still many polyps which could be cancerous and she is not getting much input from the doctors. They want her to get a colonoscopy to make sure she doesn't have any in her colon. Has anyone ever experienced this or does anyone have any info? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
: : : : Hi Tammy... About 2 weeks ago,I also had a endoscopy and had a polyp removed from my stomach and it was not cancer. My doctor told me that it was highly unlikely that polyps were cancerous, who knows. I also have to have a colonoscopy done, just to be on the safe side. I am 56 y/o. My gastro. Dr. said that my polyp was mostly muscle cells not cancer cells. So don't worry Tammy. Tell your mom to have a colonoscopy...Ruth

: : : Thanks for you message. Did you have any symptoms from your stomach polyp?
: : I went into the hospital because I had pain in upper stomach and around liver area. I don't know if this was related to polyps or not. When they did the Endo thats when the dr. found the polyp. What symptoms does your mom have. Ruth
: *The symptoms my mom has are upper adominal bloating. Shortness of breath when stomach is bloated. Sometimes nausea.
Tammy I have all of those symptoms also I have bloating after eating. I have emphysema, I am most of the time short of breath, but the bloating sure doesn't help. I had a lot of nausea.
I take prilosec to keep down the acid in my stomach. What has the Drs. said about your Mom. I think they only found one polyp, I'm not sure. I was just worried about cancer, which it wasn't. Hope everything goes ok for your mom. Ruth
