: : Can anyone give me any info on chemo treatment with Doxil? What should I expect? Side effects and ect. Any info would be great.
: : Thanks.
: the drug name is liposomal doxorubicin. from what i read its suppose to be pretty gentle. doxil is the drug trade name. the main thing is it leaves you more prone to infections, bleeding and bruising. so be sure to stay away from people who are sick. i didn't read anything about severe neausau(mispelled it i know) or low blood counts. good luck with it
My wife has just received her second treatment of Doxil. The side effects from the first infusion seemed to be somewhat milder than from her six treatments with Taxol & Carboplatin. Mild nausea, which she controls with an anti-emetic. By the third day she experiences body and muscle aches. She has been watching for cold sores, redness on feet & hands and low white blood counts.
Her hair has come back and she is hopeful that it doesn't thin. It isn't supposed to. Her CA-125 has dropped to 23 u/ml. Good luck with your treatment.
