: : 4 weeks ago I had a lymph node removed from my thyroid and the biopsy results say malt b-cell low -grade lymphoma, non-hodgkins. My oncologist has ordered cat-scans & a bone marrow biopsy to see if the NHL is anywhere else. Has anyone had a bone marrow biopsy (or experience w/this type of cancer)? I've heard the bone marrow biopsy is very painful. I would appreciate any feedback about this test, anything to prepare for it, etc. Thank you!
: Hi Michele >>> go to http://www.lymphoma.org to the left click message board, next skrool all the way down to where it says Non-Hodgkins-Lymphoma Message Board and click on that. Those people will have the answers for you. God Bless
Michele, I had a bone marrow biopsy 7 yrs ago right after my diagnoses. It was done right in the doctors office and is done with a tiny drill. The Dr. drilled into my hip bones on the buttox. It didn't really hurt, just like a bee stine. Ask your dr. how he plans to do the biopsy. Good Luck and God Bless. Shari
