: The most common symptoms of a brain met are slurred speech, balance problems (ataxia), weakness on left side, disorientation and an extreme headache. An excellent site for info on brain tumors is www.abta.org. It helped me tremendously when my husband had a brain tumor and then was diagnosed with SCLC. The fatigue is common to cancer in general, and the results of chemo, so it would be hard to tell. And if she is taking a platinum-based chemo, it does cause vision problems. If, as this progresses, you have any doubt, I would insist that a brain MRI be done. Find info on the internet that talks about SCLC metastasizing to the brain and take it to the doctor. They can't argue with facts. If you need any help finding this info, I will be glad to assist you.
thank you for the info. my dad is taking her to the doctor today,a nd is going to insist on a brain scan. her doctors really upset me, they think she's going to die anyway, so why push expensive tests. their attitude is just wait and see
