: I have a friend that had breast cancer a year and half ago. I am not sure of the type of cancer but I do know that it was one of the worst type breast cancer that you can have. She was treated with Chemo for 4-5 months then had the mastectomy. That was a year ago and now we found out she has Secondary Bone Cancer. She has had some back and leg pains for the last 6 months. She is having a weeks worth of Chemo pills to see if that helps??????? Not sure why just a week. Any information that you have would be great. Is this curable? Any new treatments? Why a week trial on the chemo meds? What to expect in future. Thank you.
see if you can find out where trials for a vaccanation called theratope are going on. it is speciically for metastatic breast cancer, the results of this have been very good in this patient population and its gentle for people who are not in strong conditon or have been through a lot of chemo. i don't know her exacts, and if she fits in the protocal but with the results they have gotten its worth checking into. there are also monoclonial anibodies for mestatic breast cancer. there is also a new drug, doing better in some trials then tamoxifen does for metastaic breast cancer.
