my mother has small cell lung cancer diagnosed in january of this year.she was in remission and was just recently diagnosed with mets in the brain and the liver. in the week and one half she has gone down hill, cant talk wont eat or drink.just stares into space. my advice for anyone battling small cell is if you have any symptons of the brain get a brain scan, or anytime you get a body scan get a brain scan. her doctors listned to her slur her speech for a month, and talked my dad out of thinking she needed a brain scan. i came to visit her a week ago, and she didn't acklnwledge i was there. we don't know if her shut down is the brain raiation or the disease. what her doctors incompentecy did was take away my chance to say goodbye. don't let this happen to you. please. everyone should have that chance.
