: My mother told me that my father has polyps in his colon, and that he's going to have them removed and then he should be fine.
: My father is 65 years old and I know that he's not in the best of health. He smokes and drinks, even when the doctor has told him not to and he eats the worst food a person at his age could possibly eat. I don't think he's going to change. I don't think he realizes what all this means to his body.
: I'm just not sure of what polyps means? Does that mean that he has cancer? And with his eating and drinking and smoking won't they just come back?
: I know my old man can't be the only hard headed geezer around, someone out there has to be dealing with this too. What are his chances of surviving this?
: I mean, after the cancer is removed will he be cured than? Cancer does come back though right? I cold really use some answers.
: I'd really appreciate it if someone culd let me know what to expect with all this.

Marcello,
Polyps are not necessary cancerous. Have the doctor's told him he has cancer?
