: i just want to thank everyone who answered my posts, and say my mother died in her sleep last week from small cell metastis to the liver. she only lasted two weeks from the time they found it. she had gone through chemo in jan-mar, went into remission and entered a clinical trial. she had speech sluring for a while, and her doctors wouldn't order any tests. apparently they think the toxins from a non functioning liver damaged her brain. she was in a coma state when she died. if you are in remission from small cell please be careful about metastasis. it kills quick if left unchecked. it is interesting that while surgeons are held responsible for their patients deaths, oncologists patients deaths are always blamed on the cancer
I'm so sorry, Diana. The hope always is that the chemo will kill cancer cells anywhere in the body, but there are still no cures. You are in my prayers, and I'm sure everyone who has seen your messages is sending you loving thoughts. Sari
