In Reply to: Does anyone have some advise? posted by Ilse on October 11, 2000 at 02:48:35:

: My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 1998 her breast was removed and she received chemotheraphy and radiation. After a year they discovered that the cancer has spread to her liver and 6 months after that to her brain stem. Again she received radiation for her brain and is currently busy with chemo every 2nd week. The problem is she's extremely tired and dizzy - past 3 days can't get out of bed, her blood pressure is all over sometimes high then low, is there anything we can do for her? Any advise will be appreciated.

hi, i was at a bit of a loss when i read your post because there is not much we can do about the side effects of chemo. i lost my mum to cancer and i am now going through it with my mum-in-law who was dx with breast cancer which has metastised to her liver and bones so we are in the same place you are. i just thought of a reference that may help though. you did not say what kind of chemo your mom is on but if you find out, go to www.sharedexperience.org nad click on the list of chemo drugs and they give you suggestions on how to deal with various side effects.
if you need to talk please contact me.
take care
jenn
