: just want to drop a note to reccomend a book called final gifts which I just read. its a book about what people go through when they are terminal (what they go through emotionally and physically) I would highly reccomend it if you have just lost someone to cancer or have someone who may be losing their fight. I lost my mother about three weeks ago and this book made me strongly understand everything she did, said and went through. My only regret is we didn't have it while she was passing away. Be cautioned if you just lost someone it is preety intense, and will make you relive things, but then it will help you heal by the understanding it gives you. The book is not religious orentated , it is fact based on a study of 2oo hospice patients.
Diana, aren't those books wonderful, I recieved one called "Gone From My Sight" the night before my mother passed away. The hospice nurse gave it to me, it is similar to the one you described. How I wish I had gotten it much earlier in my mothers illness. Like the book you have it describes all the stages of dying starting at about 6 months before, yes, it was hard to pick up and start to read but once I got into it it described my mothers last few months to a T. The hospice nurse said she was never sure when to give this book to familys, I told her that I thought they should be given the books earlier so they could understand the stages their loved ones were going thru.
Diana, I lost my mother in April, I understand what you are going thru right now and if you would like to talk please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
