Cathey,

My father was first diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma in 1996. He had his kidney removed and part of the bladder. He has had cancer 2x since then. And is having chemo again right now. Overall he has come out of it with flying colours. I hope it stays that way. I'd be happy to share his story with you. Please email me at malong@pathcom.com.

I had my right kidney removed with a tumor as big as it could get without rupsuring my kidney or the tumor rupsuring itself. This operation took place on March 31, 1999. In January 2000 while trying to watch the super bowl I started having to go to the bath room often. Seems I almost got put back in the hospital for a serve bladder infection. Things have been quite for a whild now but I am waiting for something else to maybe go wrong before my 5 years are up. If you have had more problems than you thought you should I like to know what to maybe look for because I had this tumor for more than two years and none of the doctors I was going to found this tumor until I was in the emergency room. Then it took them 8 hours to discover it.Most of the time like right now sittinf here writing this message my left side where my other kidney remains hurts. So I would appreicate any input anyone has about their experience with this type of cancer. Thank you
