: My mother had a breast removed 4 years ago. She seems to be doing alright with it, but the last few month has been having a problem. She says she has a sensation like needles pricking or like bugs crawling around under her arm and down to her elbow. Sometime it is quite painful and other times it just feels horrible. She had a few lymph nodes removed, but not all. Have you heard of this problem?

Donna, I had breast cancer 10 years ago and they removed all of my lymph nodes, because my cancer had spread to five nodes. I get some of those crazy sensations and I think it has something to do with nerve damage. She should discuss it with her oncologist for her own reassurance. I believe it to be a very common occurence.
