: : : My dad was just diagnosed with bile duct carcinoma. This is a rare form of cancer. Has anyone else heard of this or been diagnosed with this. It has metastasized to the liver and we are still doing tests to see if surgery can be performed. Thanks
: : he needs antifarnesylation pills like sch66336 or arglabin. the arthritis pill clinoril(sulindac) makes the cancer cells commit suicide.

: How do you know about this? Did you have personal experience with this? Can you tell me anything more about this? Thanks.
My brother was diagnosed 4 months ago. Kaiser Permanente tried to work on his bile ducts enteroscopically, but that only helped a little. Now we are at the Century City Pancreato-Biliary Institute in Century City California, and there Dr. Renner is leading a very progressive attack on the cancer. Including :metal stents in the bile duct (much more successful than Kaiser), HDR (high dosage localized radiation), PDT (Photo Dynamic Therapy) and Chemo stressing antiangiogenesis. Renner has several patients who have lived over 4 years with this therapy. Of course, the goal with choalangiocarcinoma is life extension, not cure. Good luck Theresa. This is a hard road.
