The doctors told my Dad to avoid acid foods like tomatoes, oranges, etc, salt, alcohol. They also told my mom to mix 1tsp baking soda, 2 tsp. salt and 1 quart warm water and have my dad swish it around in his mouth for a minute four times per day. Avoid commercial mouthwashes.
