Hi I am a charge nurse in a nursing home. I graduated from Amarillo College School of Vocational Nursing in 1994 and have worked in nursing homes for 5 1/2 years now.
I have a lot of experience with death and cancer among many others.

My advice is to get the doctor to explain everything to you. Is this person on Hospice? If so they are wonderful at explaining things and giving support to friends and family.
My heart goes out to you both as I know what it is like to lose someone you love. I have lost many patients and friends alike and I love them all.
