I am a caregiver for a 24-year-old male with muscular dystrophy. Recently he approached me for advice and help regarding his sexuality. Because of his disability, he is weak and has a limited range of movement and thus, is completely incapable of self-pleasuring. My client expressed to me his great frustration at not being able to perform an act that everyone has a right to. He told me of research that he has done on the Internet, talking to various therapists, experts, etc. Many of these experts told my client about people in similar situations who have found caregivers willing to physically assist that is to say masturbate their clients. This is not something I am willing to do but I will support my client in trying to find a way to fulfill his sexual needs. I applaud my client for his great courage in coming to me with this matter. Masturbation is a natural part of human sexuality, something that should not be denied to my client. I would appreciate any advice you could give me on this matter.
