She has always tried not to be a burden, though. Not long ago, I was trying to think of something cheerful to say and I said, "The best thing you did for us chiLdren was keeping us in church." She visibly brightened and thanked me for saying that. I really meant what I said. Church is where I learned the most important truth: "For God so loved the world that He gave us his only son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life."
