: : My husband is due for surgery the last part of oct. What can i expect as a wife.I already know he's gonna whine alot.He is having them both done at the same time as we can't afford to have him off for 12 weeks doing one at a time.Am i going to go crazy or what?also what can he expect from the surgery such as pain, help from the surgery, how long will he be out of commission and son.Anybodys insites would be very helpful thank you
: I had the surgery done on my left hand Oct 1st--I have paralysis of the right arm so I, too, was completely disabled. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. My biggest fear was being awake during the surgery but the worst part was when they made my arm and hand go numb which went away within a matter of minutes after the took the tourniqet (sp?) off. There really wasn't much pain after--I guess I would have to say that the worst part was having to have someone feed and dress me and take me to the bathroom because I had a huge dressing on and was unable to do anything for myself for about a week and a half. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me. Good luck.
Kristy: I am facing surg sometime in June or July. In your message you said to email you but I could not find it listed. I would like your email address. My address is BlessingTwo@ aol.com Thank you. Lisa.
