I'm 35 years old now, and when I was around 13-16 years old, I was a skateboarding fanatic. I did it day and night, and never used any safety equipment. In skateboarding, when you fall, you tend to break your fall with your hands, usually landing with some force right where the "median nerve" is. Later, in my twenties, when I began working in home renovations, my hands started to get numb. Now, I've got full blown carpal tunnel syndrome. I can't help but think that it was caused by all the times I fell, possibly damaging something in the carpal tunnel area. Whaddya think? (not that it's any consolation to know the cause though...)
