: hi shirley:
: i was diagnosed with CTS in december, 1999 (severe). After interviewing several surgeons, I chose a surgeon who specializes in "hands" only. It is important for you to research the surgeons and ask as many questions as possible to get a comfort level.
: i had very successful surgery march 01, 2000 and all the pain is gone. i was told by a number of surgeons that there is the possibility of permanent nerve damage by NOT having the surgery. i wish you the best of luck. if you have any questions, please do POST them and i will try to answer them the best I can.
: Regards, elaine
I am concerned that I have CTS and have no idea where to begin. I live in SF. What type of specialist should I see? I don't have an HMO, so I can go directly to a specialist. And, how did you find the best surgeon, specialist, etc. Please help! If you wouldn't emailing me directly, that would be great. If not, I understand. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
