: Has anybody ever heard of this? Since I am having more trouble since I had the surgery my doctor is now telling me I might have this. I am being sent to a rhuemotologist now.
Yes, I suffer from reflex sympathetic dystrophy. I fell getting out of bed and broke my foot. The doctors say that a tramatic injury or surgery could cause this. I have been diagnosed for over a year now. I was unable to walk for 10 months then my pain management doctor suggested a spinal cord stimulator after multiple nerve blocks failed to work over about a week. That made a great deal of differance in my quality of life. The doctor says the spinal cord stimulator scrambles the pain waves on the way to the brain. You might want to ask your doctor about this.
